Update to Cold War Medal

Cold Wars Update:

Here is the best information I can find about the Cold War Victory Medal: So this is an update on this update, Certificate of Recognition and Medal. It is difficult for me to understand the delay to make this medal available to all that qualify when we go to great links to award others: athletes, actors and others people that have a role in producing a motion picture with awards, stars on the sidewalk, praise on tv shows — you can add to this list. Just try to thank those that served this Nation with a certificate and a medal and you encounter delays and reservations. It seems like all the VSOs (Veteran Service Organizations) are supporting the efforts to get the medal approved by Congress. We can help by writing, emailing and calling our congressmans and senators and telling them to support the bill that will make this medal available to all that qualify.

With support from you and others including VSOs or Veteran Service Organizations the Cold War Victory Medal should be approved! And that will be a good thing!

  3. USAEUR 1958-1960. I would not accept a certificate for my service, if thats all it was worth then they can keep it. We deserve an official medal from DOD authorized for wearing with uniform.

Present status, hr-1585 pased by the House and Senate and sent for conferees to decide. You can check the status of the bill by doing a google search. If interested check the conferee list and send them a letter with your thoughts.

    Good luck to all,

Some time I watch with wonder at the speed in which the governments in this country seem to move, when working for the people who are here illegally, yet when it is for the citizens that serviced this country they go back to foot dragging. The citizens that preformed many duties sometime under extreme conditions should have this (foot dragging) uppermost in mind when voting in the next election!

  5. I am amazed at all the retention decorations seen now that older vets put in the “geedunk’ catagory. They seem to get passed and issued just fine. They are for things like taking ship rides, or getting billited in out-of-the way places and being half-squared away. Things that were done as accepted routine.

Yet with the Cold War Medal, VFW magazine mentions cost. That is a sorry legacy to millions of service people.

It does not take that long to e-mail or call. I am not great with a computer either. :)

    God Bless

  6. So far, I have not read about a single VSO or Veteran Service Organization that do not support the Cold War Metal, yet the Congress continue to half-step and foot-drag.

  7. maby we should say we are all illegal aliens then the assistance and approval for the medal would be immediate____WHY DO WE NOT REQUIRE 3 YEARS OF MILITARY SERVICE FROM EVERY ILLEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY? IF THEY APPROVE THE MEDAL AND COST IS THE PROBLEM I WILL BUY IT SO I DO NOT INTERFEAR WITH SOME ILLEGAL GETTING MORE BENEFITS THAN I DO.

  8. HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO MODERATE THE TRUTH —

    Some people try! But!
THE TRUTH: “Can only be” THE TRUTH

First, secure the borders: Second, require them to service three years in military services, it could be a step in the right direction. But what do you do with the illegals that is not fit for military?
