Every time we have a conversation about the directions we are taking to get to the level where we are doing business with the governments in this country, we always discuss the Female veteran’s rate of unemployment, homelessness and lack of self esteem. Many separate from the military without any motivation to accomplish a standard existence. Brave women just months pass, engaged in life saving efforts now sleep in the street instead of fighting the system for a better life in the country they defended. Instead, they just hang around the flag pole doing nothing but sinking to the bottom and failing to tell any agency to give them a life line until they can get the World of their shoulders!
Some needs a place to stay, other have bills to pay, still others are face with no money or transportation to get to a job even if they fine one! Just remember, a large majority went in the service right out of high school, so they need the same counseling they would need entering a job as a high school graduate. Some needed to return to school and complete their education, others can start planning to go in business or expand the business owned by them or members of their family. All these opportunities exist in the VA programs that are presently in place, but the veterans should be made aware of where and how to apply for them. First I would contact the VA or Veteran Administration and get help with information you feel you need help with to get started. Next, I would contact a VSO or Veteran Service Organization, or SCORE and ask for all the help they can provide: by the way, this should be application for all the benefits available to you! If you find that you qualify for something you don’t need, you can turn it down. I learned it’s best to get approved.
This country, and the States, Counties, Cities and Townships within it, should not let veterans, especially female veterans remain homeless. We should not permit them to live on the street as a homeless person. Job training and job placement service should be available as soon as they return home from the military. I am recommending a buddy system that provide outreach within 30 days after separation from the service. We made an effort to recruit them, let’s make an effort to get them readjusted by into civilian life. Many of these services are already in place. They (the veterans) just need to be made aware of them.

I agree with you but I do need to make a small comment. A lot of services are not available to the veteran unless they have a disability up to a certain percentage. Even if you have a disability, it can take up to ten years for the VA to classify you as having a disability. Until you are classified – you can’t get much help. I wish someone would actually tell veterans what to do the moment they are injured while on active duty. If they were busy fighting a war and the doctor did not document the injury, even if it is disabling – they will not legally be considered for disability payments or major support by the VA . There will be no written medical proof that the injury incurred while they were in the military – even if it did. It’s red tape, but if you don’t know the system, it’s possible you wont get any help. There are many other examples of ways the system is set up so that the pay-out to veterans is minimized. I suppose I should shut up now before big brother comes knocking on my door.
As far as answering comments are concern I am in a delayed mode because I am gathering all medical records that VA failed to request from the doctors I listed on VA Form 21-526. So far some of the reason you stated in your comments I am being denied benefits. Your information contains facts that have been said, posted and reported by many veterans since the Veterans Administrations came into being. So have no fear, two many doors to knock on, it would take work and effort, some people think that is what missing in the efforts and procedures in the VA. Congress just made additional funds available for the VA to hire more people to speed up the process and get the benefits to the many veterans that answer the call and carried the load when the people elected and appointed to make the determination that life will be much safer if we go to war with another country that they deem to be our enemy.
You made an excellence start listing the things that an airman marine, sailor or soldier should be concern about if they get injured or wounded while in combat. Reporting an injury or wound should become a part of the training because I always rank, being healthy and able to work on a job, up with being trained and educated enough to qualify for employment.
